Senior Life Solutions

Aging brings numerous joys, such as increased time with family and the freedom of retirement. However, our later years can also usher in challenging life transitions, including the loss of loved ones
and stress from age-related health concerns.

FHW Hospital’s Senior Life Solutions is a specialized outpatient group therapy program tailored to address the distinctive needs of individuals, typically aged 65 and older, who are grappling with
depression or anxiety stemming from life changes commonly associated with aging.

Feeling down every once in a while, is a normal part of life, but if these feelings last a few weeks or
months, you may be dealing with something more serious.

Are you feeling a loss of zest for life? This program may be the right fit for you or someone you know if
you are:

  • The primary caregiver for a friend or loved one.
  • Experiencing a sense of hopelessness or a feeling of losing control in your life.
  • Dealing with a chronic health condition.
  • Feeling isolated or lonely.
  • Experiencing a loss of energy or persistent fatigue.
  • Witnessing changes in appetite (either eating too much or too little).
  • Experiencing changes in sleeping patterns (either sleeping too much or too little).
  • Coping with feelings of sadness or grief lasting longer than two weeks.
  • Recently diagnosed with a health condition.
  • Having trouble concentrating or thinking clearly.
  • Losing interest in activities that were once enjoyable.
  • Recently enduring the loss of a loved one.

After assessing an individual’s needs, participants meet up to three times per week in a supportive, encouraging group setting.

The program staff includes a board-certified psychiatrist, licensed therapists, a registered nurse, and other professionals dedicated to the emotional well-being of the seniors in our community.

Anyone can make a referral to the program. This includes self, family members, physicians, or other healthcare professionals.
